I have Windows7 Home Premium 64bit english version, an AMD Phenom II with amd-v on. For updating my gps (Windows CE usb-device)I need wmdc which is not supported on Home Premium, and to use activesync I need XP (which I have).
Before Windows Update (yesterday),
installing VMLiteWorkstationSetup gave an error being unable to instal vmlitediskmp(??) driver, in a small popup, even after I turned off Firewall and antivirus software. When I leave this popup on, I can open win7 Startmenu and select the VMLite icon, which starts the first screen where I need to select “Download from the internet" which is not possible.
After Windows update (today), it installed Microsoft.net Framework 4 Client Profile (with 5 additional updates on .net).
I was planning to install VMLite XPMode again, but I get no responce on dubbelcklick.
In Program Compatibility, Troubleshooting report @ Issues found, I can see; Incompatible Application, VMLiteWorkstationSetup-v42-beta-1 is incompatible. I do get the same report when I use VMLiteWorkstationSetup.exe (3.2.6).
I think there's a problem with installing drivers, so, I put windows in Test mode with Driver signing off, with no result. I used CMD;
bcdedit.exe -set loadoptions DDISABLE_INTEGRITY_CHECKS. (gpedit is not supported)
My question, what is missing in my Win7 install (besides wdmc and gpedit), how to get VMLite to work?

sorry, seems you already tried the beta version. I will debug a bit. never got this error before.
One thing to check is the policy to install unsigned drivers. You can check your computer's settings.

I used CCleaner; Tools > Startup > Scheduled Tasks to delete all VMLite entries. And I turned UAC (win7) on.
Trying to install VMLiteWorkstationSetup.exe, again gave me the error pop-up; VMLite - Error Can't install VMLiteDiskMP driver: The operation completed successfully. (When I click OK the installation is turned back.)
Leaving this on my screen I opened windows StartMenu and choose VMLite wizard. Here I cannot choose the option Download from the internet. I put a XP-dvd in my drive and in "Specify Package entered D:\. The License Agreement is blank, Specify the password for VMLite XP Mode is working well, Specify memory and virtual processors - Help protect your computer, all ok, than Virtual Disk Initialization This didn't work. The error shown is "The virtual hard disk file is not present: d:\\VirtualWindows XP.vhd. I need to download manually and specify the path, this might work, because the wizard is functioning.
BUT I'm quite sure I first need to have VMLiteDiskMP (and 1 other file/driver) installed. All firewalls are off.
"edit" the following,
In win7 64 Home Premium, on AMD Phenom II, in System Properties > System Protection > Configure - I turned OFF system protection.
Installing VMLiteWorkstationSetup-v42-beta-1, installation stopped with the following VMLite Error "Failed to install vbootmp driver. error=2.
In windows startmenu VMLite wizard is available but timed out, clicking OK the wizard starts, and JEEE I CAN download from the internet. Should I continue from here or do I need vbootmp before continuing?
I will continue and report here the result.
after downloading I will turn system protection back on.
"edit 2"
I started the "download from the internet", Windows XP Mode Package Download failed with a timeout (I think). The error gave a link to download.microsoft.com/./././.../WindowsXPMode en-us.exe . I manually started to downlood this 469MB file, using internet explorer 9, which did a lot of validating the last few days. I would be grateful if I have this file, which does not mean I can install this on my Home Premium.
Thank for your quick answer, I hope you can help me.

yes, you need that driver. Can you run from a command line (As administrator), and enter the following command:
"c:\program files\vmlite\vmlite Workstation\vmlitectl.exe" mount c:\yourfile.vhd
this command will try to install the driver again.

see my edit 2.
after pressing OK in the vbootmp error message I get a new VMLite error "Can't install vmlite disk driver: the system cannot find the file specified".
in command prompt, after entering your command;
c:\program files\vmlite\vmlite Workstation\vmlitectl.exe mount c:\yourfile.vhd or
c:\program files\vmlite\vmlite Workstation\vmlitectl.exe mount c:\*.vhd
or
c:\program files\vmlite\vmlite Workstation\vmlitectl.exe
all give the following;
'c:\program' is not recognized as an internal or external command.
If I cd to the location and type "vmlitectl help" I should be able to mount.
I do have VMLite command prompt, which opens with \VMLite Workstation>
edit: after closing the installation program, by clicking on OK in the error message, the de-installation starts and the \vmlite dir is removed.
