USB mode works fine after a fresh install of v2.0.4 (not an update).

One question, did the adb commands to start the server change with this new update? I wrote my own app that shells out to adb to start the server and it doesn't work with v2.x.x anymore.

The syntax appears to be the same (www.vmlite.com/vaac/#install_on_linux).

sudo adb forward tcp:5801 tcp:5801
sudo adb forward tcp:5901 tcp:5901
adb shell "am start -a android.intent.action.MAIN -n com.vmlite.vncserver/.MainActivity"
adb shell "/data/data/com.vmlite.vncserver/files/vmlitevncserver --start

These commands no longer work for USB, what has changed? Btw, I am using adb on Windows.

old commands should work:

adb shell "am start -a android.intent.action.MAIN -n com.vmlite.vncserver/.MainActivity"
adb shell "/data/data/com.vmlite.vncserver/files/vmlitevncserver" (don't use --start option, which is for something else)

adb forward tcp:5801 tcp:5801
adb forward tcp:5901 tcp:5901

Ok, that worked! I find it interesting that TCP forwarding must be enabled last now but I am not complaining. A simple one line code change and my app is working now as well.

Many thanks for your help!

Oh, and in case your interested what I use VMlite VNC Server for...it's a major part of my home brew In-vehicle Infotainment System. I mirror my phone to a 7" touchscreen mounted in the dash by simply pressing a button on the steering wheel. Then I can control it with the touchscreen, voice commands, or the steering wheel buttons. I've been using it for 1 1/2 years now and VNC server has worked flawlessly.

Here's a photo album of my current installation.

A newer better IVI is in the works.

Wow, thanks for those photos, very impressive.

Is VNC Server too slow for that purpose? I guess you don't do much video streaming yet.

We will have a much faster app coming up, which will try to merge the remote control of vnc and the real time streaming from airplay (on Android)
