VHDs on exFAT can I have all the VHDs on this file system exFAT. format the VHD as NTFS for Windows7, FAT32 for XP, ext3 for Linux ubuntu 10.04 LTS
can this work as the native VHD boot, with no NTFS file system at all. In Windows7 I to have the VHD on NTFS filesystem.
Thanks
Alf

In order to mount the vhd, the os inside the vhd must have drivers to recognize the host disk, in your case, the os must recoginize exFAT. Do you know if windows has buitin drivers for exFAT? linux most likely has it.

exFAT is only for the HDD, THE windows7.vhd file system inside the vhd file will use NTFS.
YES windows 7, 8, XP have it after you install it

I know. the internal OS must mount the host disk first in order to load the vhd file, so the os must have drivers for host file system.

I know that it dont work on native VHD from microsoft as it need NTFS to store the file VHD to moint it it have to have NTFS to have the VHD FILE on but you are using grub4dos and what is need to mount it an make the VHD can you mount it an make it on a exFAT FILESYSTEM
Any one that think that this can work, to store the VHD on exFAT and have NTFS inside the VHD for Windows 7
?

GRUB support is for the boot phase, once OS kernel is kicked in, the kernel must take over supporting the hdd.
Can you explain more on the use for exFAT? We can explore the possibility to add the support. However, before we do that, we want to first check whether it's feasible. So more details are appreciated.
Are you trying to boot from a flash drive?
