i don't get it!

you nicely posted a new pre vboot3 vloop driver for ubuntu 12.04 64 bit 3.2.0-23.
BUT if i download ubuntu 12.04 64bit it has already the kernelversion 3.2.0-29.

It would be nice you post a version for the acutal ubuntu download kernel version.

thanx

@developers

Thanks for this update. I am using it and it works great with my laptop! The old ubuntu 11.04 beta was working however it did not include my ethernet drivers and as they are broadcom drivers that can be fun to upgrade.

@reallinus

If you are adventurous point the kernel on Ubuntu 10.04 amd64 LTS to kernel 3.2.0-23, while keeping the original spare. Download the kernel and initrd and put them in /boot and make a symbolic link to them.

sudo su -
cd /
ll (lists where the initrd.img and vmlinuz are being linked to)

cd /boot
unlink vmlinuz
unlink initrd
ln -s vmlinuz-3.2.0-23-generic vmlinuz
ln -s initrd.img-3.2.0-23-generic initrd

vi /boot/grub/grub.cfg
modify entries to point at 3.2.0-23

Downgrading the kernel will no doubt break a few things, but it may be worth a try.
Otherwise give the original Ubuntu 12.04 a try or OS Luna Beta 1

As you know the linux kernel changes so often, with new drivers, security and features, so it will be a big task to update vloop for every version. Anyway good luck.

how about backtrack 5-r3 kernel 3.2.6. My OS USB stick would be king with this distro on it as-well. Let us know if this is something that will be done in the near future.
