Question on VMLite 6 Years, 11 Months ago Karma: 0
Hello everybody,

I think that I'm trying to use VMLite in the opposite way as noemal
My PC has installed XP so I'd like to upgrade it with Windows 7 x64.
To test I installed VMLite and a virtual machine with 7 x64.
It works but I can't assigne to 7 only 1,5 GB of RAM and 64 MB for graphic, so I've e little video definition and the virtual machine is very slow.
Is there any way to dedicate more resource to virtual machine ?

Thank you very much.

The reason is that your XP is 32-bit, and 32-bit xp can only handle 3G RAM, so you can't assign much memory to the vm.

Hi,

thank you for your answer.
It's correct what you say, but why I can't see 3 GB available for VM ?

I installed VM also on windows 7 32 bit with 2 GB of RAM, I created a VM in XP mode with RAM = 2 GB.
Instead on a system with XP and 4 GB I can set up virtual machine only with RAM = 1,5 GB.

What is different between 7 at 32bit and XP at 32bit ?

Many thanks
