XPM Memory problem? 9 Months, 1 Week ago Karma: 0
Hi,
My XPM is running properly in VMLite. The Host only has 1 G of memory. I have installed Quickbooks and when I try to open a company I get the foillowing:
"You must have at least 524288 bytes available on drive H: in order to open Quickbooks company"
Is this refering to the amount of Ram required?
Your guidance is once again appreciated.
Regards

That message refers to disk space. Are you opening a book from a sub dir of H:, i.e., a shared host folder?

You may want to copy the books to the vm. The reported disk space on H: might not be correct. I need to check if there is a bug.

Since your host only have 1G RAM, you may have to assign the vm to only 256MB.

Yes, I am opening the book from a subdirectory of H: as it is a shared folder.
I copied the file to the XPM desktop and it then works fine, it is about 5.2 meg in size.

Smaller files such as MP3's and pictures open fine in XPM if they are on the same shared folder on the host.

Thanks again for your quick response.

My XPM is running properly in VMLite. The Host only has 1 G of memory. I have installed Quickbooks 2005 and when I try to open a company I get the following:
"You must have at least 524288 bytes available on drive H: in order to open Quickbooks company"

I am still experiencing this problem when trying to open a company file on a shared folder on the host.
Can anyone help?
Thanks

This issue is probably due to a bug in free space calculation of drive H:, we will investigate and fix it.

Version 3.1.0 considers H: drive a psuedo drive, and has 0 free space.

We are fixing it now, and will check if can squeeze to next build, to be released today.
